First off, sorry for being away so long! It was not my plan to step away this long, but life and being a mom kind of caught up with me. It was a busy fall for us with travel to see family, fall sickness, and exhaustion. But I am back and ready to share more of our home projects!

When we rented our home, we were delighted to have a spare room on the first floor. As soon as we saw the room, we instantly wanted to make it our home office. However, we felt a little guilty, wondering if we should make it a playroom. The more we thought about it, the more we joked that the whole house was a playroom. We did want a room that was dedicated to us and gave us some privacy. As I work more on this blog, return to school, work on photography, and do Amazon reviews, I want to have a solid workspace. Tony also wanted a place to participate in his favorite pastime…football. The poor guy has had to watch football on his cell phone for the last few years so that the kiddos can still watch TV on Sundays. Bless his heart.

After we had made up our minds about making the room our office, we decided to work on our vision for the room. Throughout these projects, we have found that less is more for us. We both prefer minimalist decor and clutter-less spaces, and we enjoy more natural-colored furniture. Which is great, but we also didn’t want to drown the room out. To add pops of color, I decided to utilize real and faux indoor plants throughout the office. As you can see, we also found large, beautiful paintings to add color. Tony picked this one out since he missed living by the water.

All in all, I really love how the room has come together! In hindsight, I wish I had picked an accent chair that had more color, but the one you see in the pictures is super comfortable! The fun thing about decorating is that you can always change accent pieces around the home, so stay tuned! I just might move this chair to another spot, lol!

Here is the link to my Amazon Storefront, where you can see the furniture we bought for the office and other décor pieces.

I really love the picture in our office and the rattan lamp; both pieces were purchased at Home Goods!

When it comes to live plants I have had really great luck at finding thriving plants at our local Kroger, which always makes me laugh because it’s not the first place one would think of to purchase plants. However, local grocery stores often sell and run great sales on live plants so keep your eye out next time you are grocery shopping!

I did mention Amazon reviews, and if that is something you are interested in, please let me know. I would be happy to provide you with more information!

Thanks for stopping by!
