We are a little over 90 days away from our cross-country move. To say I am excited is an understatement. In terms of design we are in the planning stages of how we want to design the interior of our home. But before I dive into our design plans, I wanted to give a little more context to the name Seasons of Life Design. My oldest will be five next month; we also have a 2-year-old and 1 1-year-old. So, needless to say, we have been in the baby season for some time. We just moved a pack-n-play out of our room about a month ago, and it feels like we have a brand-new room. We had a pack-and-play in our room for about two years…crazy right.. but that was the season.
In the last 6 months, we have begun to gift baby items slowly. We have gifted a crib, a car seat, gates, a swing, you name it. As we have been clearing out the house of baby items, there has been a mix of emotions for me: excitement for the next season and mourning about leaving the baby season. I think that’s one thing no one warned me about: the sadness that comes with knowing you aren’t having any more babies. No more newborn snuggles, late-night feedings, or the simplicity of holding your tiny one. It’s a hectic period, but I will genuinely miss it. We are in the thick of toddler season now, which comes with its joys and challenges. However, I know we will be in the next season in the blink of an eye, so I do my best to cherish every moment. So now you know the meaning behind the name Seasons of Life Design. I look forward to sharing more with you!
